WWW
« on: March 11, 2007, 01:17:39 pm »

Ok Guy's and Gals,

After much behind the back work and many emails I got them !!!! Yeaaaa Haaaa !!!!  Say That Say That
Look out people I got my first Photographer Assignment
I'm hoping for the cover shot for my first race !!

Photo credentials for Sebring and the St Pete races two weeks later. What do I do now, I need some advice on where to go to get the passes and what do I need to attend any morning meetings ? I have been to the last two Sebring races as a spectator and just don't want to #@*&^%$# up my first real gig.

Also does the Media Center have wireless Internet? I need to upload some pictures to some web pages daily.

I hope to meet some of the others that hang out here again this year!!! My editor also wants pictures of the Greenpark fans and photos of Turn10 fans...............So I will be out and about all 4days, looking for Boobies Boobies

Thanks, Bill

Who will you be shooting for?

You're going to need to pick up your credentials from will call. They open around 7am (if i recall correctly) on Wednesday. At that point they should tell you what time the photographer's meeting is at. You've got to go to the meeting to pickup your vest...without the vest you can't go on circuit. They'll explain where you can and cannot go. Bring a credit card so you can check out the vest (if you dont return it, they'll charge you).

I believe the media center has wireless, but it's a bit spotty. Hopefully it'll be better this year. In any case, there is definitly internet access up there.

My only tips are:

Bring good shoes, sunscreen, and a good hat
You may need some kneepads, some of the grass isnt knee-friendly (if you need a pair i just replaced mine and i'll give you my old ones)
The shots at the end of the day with the cars going into the sun are really nice, specifically at the hairpin
Take shots of the cars pointed both right AND left. (...right kathy?)
Bring extra batteries and memory cards
If you have a real flash, bring it, with plenty of batteries, for the night "activities"

It's a good time, just keep your eyes and ears open and be careful.

Hi KT
Who will you be shooting for?

Answer  It's a small on-line specialty magazine thats adding more race coverage

Thanks for the helpful tips I hadn't thought about knee pads, I shot most of the cars on the grid at the 24hrs. on my knees, Later that day I thought my legs were made of rubber !!!

I just don't want to get started out on the wrong foot !!!!

Thanks, Bill
