On some other forums, there has been some speculation about a possible return of the Panoz GTR for Sebring and LeMans. I, for one, would love to see (AND FEEL!) the mighty Batmobile race one more time. There has been some criticism that the GTR is so uncompetitive that it shouldn't even be allowed to race. I don't think it could be any worse than some of the other entries such as the Taurus Lola (Nothing against the Taurus car or team. It's a cool car, too.) If it can qualify, it should be allowed to race.

Well shoot, somebody has to lose. So why complain too much about a slower car. I would love to see the GTR in action.

Why would you not enter the car if you had a chance?
Yes I doubt it will win but you never know. Didn't they pull an improbable upset at the DC race last year?

damn it I'll drive! Gimme the keys!

The batmobile qualified well in that 1000k race last november. I really thought panoz was gonna enter it as a GTP at sebring this year, you know in its own class ie: bentley. That would have been great!!!

Except that there's no GTP class. If the Batmobile shows up, it will be in LMP1.

One of the Panoz LMP's are running in HSR now; I saw it for the first time at the Daytona race in December, 2003.  Just can't miss that great American roar!

Gunnar Jeannette and Wayne Jackson were driving it, I believe....

Wayne Jackson owns it and Gunnar's dad's shop prepares it. Smiley

Gunnar had it on his two-car trailer at the GA race at Barber Park last May and told me about it.
