Oh, great, noble & wise moderators ... I'm trying to change my e-mail address on the profile page ... I enter the new addy & save but the old address remains.
Do I have to enter a PW somplace to allow that? Change the PW in the fields at the bottom?
(Please make no comments comparing this post to the first line in my signature below if it does apply... thanks. :lol: )
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

On this page, Up Center there are 5 buttons
Forum FAQ Search Usergroups Profile Log out [ YOUR NAME ]
as long as you are logged in, click on the profile button and change it there. If that does not work, send me a PM with the email addy and I will change it.
There could be some strange happenings because we are preparing to move to a new server and I am working on a new layout. So some stuff is being moved as we speak.

Sack, This SHovanec, with a temporary userid... Found it, did it ... and system said something like I had changed a critical ID and moderator action was required. Didn't know if the system was going to send a confirmation e-mail to one of the two e-mail addy's (old or new) requesting confirmation of the change, if one of the moderators had to approve the switch, or  Now, when I log in with the SHovanec userid all I see is a blank screen in the forum's with no data displayed. Wow ssomething is fucked wityh the database. I changed you pass and could not log in as you so i removed your user all together.

Sack ... it's all my fault. Damn SPAM filters.
When I changed my addy, it said my account was deactivated, and that an e-mail would be sent with instructions to re-activate, or moderator intervention would be required. I waited nearly 24 hours, and never received an e-mail, in either my new or old account, that's when I created the 'hov_temp' account and made the above post.
Yesterday, I was deleting the spam from my gmail account ... which was the new address I wanted to use ... and there was the e-mail, auto generated from Nuke, with a link. Had I clicked that link, before all this started, we'd be golden.
Sorry, buddy, for the hassle. I owe you a couple beers at Sebring for causing all this crap.

Man, this just gets fuckeder and fuckeder.
I received the e-mail notice that someone had replied to a thread I was watching, clicked on the link and was able to see this post in this thread.
When I log in with the the bogus 'hov_temp' userid, I can see this thread.
But when I log in with this userid, SHovanec, I CANNOT SEE THIS THREAD in the 'Contact a Moderator' topic lising. Can you? Can anyone else?
I'm thinking about asking you to blow away (again) the SHovanec userid and creating a new user to try and unscrew things. Man, I feel so bad about screwing up your system... sorry.

Something is screwy. I got a auto reply for a thread and it said the post did not exist. So either someone posted then deleted it or something is screwy.
I can not wait for SF.com 2.0.
I did have to screw with some stuff. We found out the hacker got in through the forums not Nuke :roll:

I got a auto reply for a thread and it said the post did not exist. That could be as a result of me also... if there were, say, 18 posts in a thread, but when mine were deleted there became only 15, and the link pointed you to what would have been number 19 - it would say the post didn't exist. Example - go to General Information, and click on the link to page 6 for the topic "First Visit to Sebring for 12 hour race". It will say "No posts exist for this topic". (As of 3:14 pm eastern) That's because of my deleted posts... There is only 5 pages of posts, but the system is confused... Scott |
