Hey My Ice Cream Man! I'm still here! And although they ambushed the thread I understand your question... Like I said before the question comes down to when you get there. Thursday nite there's Vintage racing from like 5-7 at which time the rain usually starts....then it's night practice....more rain....cause it's THURSDAY!!!! (That's it's own story.) Anyway,,,,, if you want to pull a rig into Green Park just be in line between the 2, otherwise you might be watching from the outskirts till it's over. Then when you get in come to 10 for the WFO party!!! See ya there!

Thanks for the info! I will definitely be sure to be in line between the two so I can roll on in and set up shop. And I will definitely come by the party!  Beer

You might start at the grid walk before the race, that is if get there on time Boogie Boogie.
Saturday you might be better walking to the track, as traffic at the track is a stand still   tickedoff tickedoff

The gates are open 24hrs so you might want to head to the track after work Friday night.  smitten 2funny

Ditto.  The sooner you get there the better ... if coming Saturday, best bet is to find someplace to park and walk around as much as you can to enjoy as much as you can.  Make sure someone stays sober enough to remember where you parked.

Stop the NASCARization of road racing!

There is also free parking outside the track.  You won't find a spot inside.  They may even stop selling parking passes if they get to capacity.

If you've got the pass they'll let you in.  There's always some place to squeeze in.  Why stay in Lakeland?  Go straight to the track and sleep in the rental.  Leave the pussies that bitch behind and they'll be more room in it.

Otherwise plan on being at the gate at 6am Saturday if you want to be sure not to miss the start.  If it's your first time, do the grid walk at all costs.

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.

Take that with a pinch of salt. My friends drive over from Orlando each year on race day, park in the free car park outside and they arrive within an hour of the race start and only encounter about 5 mins of queueing at the track itself.

They usually arrive about 45 mins before the start of the race and park in the will call parkinng lot outside the gate. In 10 years the worst they have encountered is a 15 minute queue and thats usually at the cross roads intersection outside the track. It may be a case that its busier early than that though, but my guess is that 80% of race day attendance would be camped at the track already from Friday night anyway.

Sounds like first-hand experience; I've never done it so I was going by stories I heard.  Probably SIR attendance inflation.
