It was me !
No only kidding, nothing to do with it, but your post did give me an idea after I read about it going missing.
I thought about kidnapping the banner and then taking it to various racing events around the world and sending pictures or postcards back to the owner, of the banner enjoying its holidays.
We did this to a friend with his Metallica baseball cap that he bought at a gig. He never knew who had it for two years, but he kept getting sent pictures of it with various people all over the world on their holidays and at car rallies. Was really funny.

How much for a banner? I think all of us should post them around our various campgrounds kind of like those safe haven things you see at various stores and shopping centers. That away, any SF.com member needing assistance, like another brew, would know he's welcome and its "safe" to come in! ;-)
