I was at the Mopar Thunder race at Eldora Speedway this past weekend and noticed one sponsor in particular that seemed somewhat out of place.  Check out the front wing.

And now time for a shameless plug.  I have 3 pages worth of new photos up in my Eldora Speedway/Border Wars gallery.  Many of which make for good desktop wallpaper if you're into sprint cars.

Of the cars?  I have some up close shots of the cars, but not much as far as components of the cars (suspension, chassis, etc.).  I have a few of the close up shots of the cars themselves in my photo gallery.

And here's one of the Mopar sprint car engine.

Speaking of sprints that is what I grew up around. My father would always said
8O REAL race cars don't have doors.I just went through some old home movies of my dads and I found some footage of sprints at Plant Field in Tampa in 1961.No wings{those are for airplanes},no roll cages{those are for pussies} they are at least wearing helmets, well sort of. 8O

Wow, I'd love to have some old footage like that.  There were some vintage cars at Eldora last weekend, it's amazing to think that those guys ran like that (no cages or even belts).

I am going to convert them to dvd hopefully. The sprint car footage is only
a few minutes long.It still pretty cool. Also have mid 50's early 60's sports
car stuff also. All of which will be part of our slide at Turn10 for Sebring 06.

Awesome, I now have more bargaining power to get the Misses to understand why it's absolutely necessary for me to go back for only my second time.

I'm already making plans and trying to get more people to go so that it's not just my dad and I making the trip.  Hopefully I'll get enough people together to make an RV affordable.  Driving back and forth to the hotel in Kissimmee every day was an immense pain in the ass.  Dad is never making hotel reservations again.

You cann rent a RV on site for around 3K. If you call now to the local sebring hotels, you might be able to reserve a room in town. There are a lot of people who rent out thheir homes to race fans just for the race, also.

maybe call the Sebring Chamber of commerce and get more info
