For those that partake,... Be aware that there are commando units, that roam around undercover hoping to catch somebody burning a joint, and screw up their whole weekend.
These guys take this Way too seriously considering all the drunkedness that abounds,... Hypocrasy at it's finest. These DEA Wannabes seem to derive pleasure on making that "Big" Bust of a joint or 2.
So make some brownies, or cookies, or just pay attention to which way the wind is blowing the aroma, and be careful of Big Brother looking into your business.
It was funny last year, while they were "Helping Society" by Taking out these "Dangerous" Pot Smokers, somebody robbed a local bank in town. You would think they would get their priorities straight.
Peace!
I would like to thank the few of the officers that are there to keep the peace, traffic moving, and people safe from drunken assholes who want to fight, and scumbags who steal peoples stuff. There are a few cops that are pretty cool, and their mutual respect is appreciated.

Totally agree with the fine officers who realize no harm no foul. The Zealots really put a bad vibe over the situation with no reason to overreact. Hopefully whoever is in charge of briefing the details will have more of an understanding of what this PARTY is all about. Stop the bullshit fights and there is never a problem. Woodstock of motorracing lives at Sebring every year.

Yes, word up. Especially when everyone is standing around looking at the people in jeeps coming over the bridge area. I've heard that they walk right up and try to bum one and then it's a trip to the little pokey. Some of the cops are cool and will let you go, some book and release you, and some release you OUTSIDE the fence so you have to buy a ticket to get back in. All arrests feature a court appearance later. Be careful 'bout that stuff. A back-up plan might be in order for when you get seperated from your group.

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background. The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket. If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game. -the_stig, a ferrarichat.com douchebag

The alternative is,.. Drink More Alcohol!?!?!?
Ironically,.. I think more alcohol and less pot makes for a more boligerent partier. More Pot and less alcohol makes a much more docile partier.
It's 2005,.. End Prohibition!!!!!

I'm not taking any chances with smoking grass outside of Holland. Besides, a combination of pot and alcohol always stops my party. I just fall asleep! So I'll stick with alcohol.

And, the type of alcohol being consumed has a lot to do with the billigerence of the individual ... you ever been in a bar and just watch the people? Notice the first to fight are usually those drinking whiskey - Jack Daniels or something, while the rum drinkers are waiting to see who's winning so they can get on their side, the vodka / gin drinkers try to stay out of it ... and the beer drinkers, of course, will join the fray but they gotta go take a leak first... Cheers, Scott

Don't even believe that. I know of at least one bust where the cops were peeking inside an RV. So assume that even if you are doing nothing wrong at Sebring there's probably a cop with binoculars spying on you.

I know of at least one bust where the cops were peeking inside an RV. Now that's cold. Just plain cold. And uncalled for.

Why bother if you have to be paranoid about getting caught? I smoke an occasional joint to relax. Watching my back while smoking is not my idea of relaxing.

There was a guy next to us that got busted as he was smoking in his tent. In his fucking tent. Thank God they stopped that guy from getting stoned and sitting around. I mean seriously, who wants a stoner sitting around and relaxing. I felt much safer once he was gone.

Got caught along the turn 8 area. Real bummer (especially for him and the two sober dudes who had to go bail him out).
