Unfortunately I'm not going to be there this year, so I'll be watching the race live on Speed Channel and listening in on RadioLeMans. My fellow Canadian marshalling contingent (dubbed "the Eh-Team" left for Sebring on Saturday and I of course am envious of them and stuck here in the cold & snow.

I've been down 3 times before - last year was by far the best. I shall have to build on that another time..

For those of you who are going to be there - take a look for the Canadian flags between Turns 3 and the drive-over bridge -- that's our traditional corner assignments, with Turn 4, driver's right being our HQ.

A little favour and a little prank for my friends  :
There is a running joke that I, BucketBoy am "world famous". Not only did fans on the hill at Turn 4 spontaneously give me the nickname on raceday in 2003, but Speed Channel's Bob Varsha & David Hobbs mentioned me personally by nickname on the air during last year's Indy-F1 weekend. I think it would be quite amusing if some of you went up to the Canadian marshals at Turn 3,4, or the bridge and asked "Is BucketBoy around -- I was hoping he might be available to sign an autograph for me?!" Cool

That would be a real hoot and keep the joke running for another year!

Staple it to a tongue depressor and cut out the eye holes--then line the fence at turn 3 with a crowd of Bucket Boys, eh??

LOL - That would totally kick ass! Trust you guys to be so creative!!!

Here's some shots that could be used, click the photos for hi-res versions.

This first one appeared was the one that started the 'World Famous' joke -- it appeared (without my prompting or knowledge) on the American GT website last May - with the caption "The World Famous BucketBoy" Cheesy
When one of our local marshals saw it, she had it modified as a joke.

Here's a great one of me & the famous banner that I got nearly all the drivers to sign last year at Sebring:

And finally, an 'action shot' -- last year at Cleveland - I'm the one in white on the left doing an impression of an oil sheik with a towel on my head as AJ Allmendinger cuts the grass!

If it happens it happens and it'll be hilarious to see the legend grow!
If not, no worries, I won't hold it against you!  wink

I should really get myself some 'hero cards' made up -- I could keep them in my bucket (where else, of course!)

sorry to hear you won't be there.

Well I'll be watching porn on TV but I won't be thinking of you.

I'll be on turn 4 right across from them.

What's some of their names, and what's your real name? I'll get their attenti0on at some point.

I printed out your pic and some "Missiing" flyers I will paste to the inside of the wall in turn 3-4.....

The legend will live.

Too bad i don't have time to get a bucket to walk around with and collect change at the canadian camp for the reward.

LOL - MISSING poster! I like it!

My name's Dan but at the track everyone knows me as BucketBoy.

Apparently there's a crew of about 15 of us down there already.

Our corner chief (& trackside chef) is (Photo->)Reid - he has a beard & glasses and will wear a bright orange vest. You'll most likely find him by the van at Turn 4.

There's a Sebring-virgin called Adam, a fairly young & bespectabled Hungarian-Canadian (so he has a bit of an accent). Then there's DJ who's quite loud & always smiling, and most likely to have the binoculars out looking for topless spectators. He's good pals with Riley, the youngest (& tallest?) of the bunch, then there's his dad Brian - with beard (but no glasses). Then we have Judy, who likes to blue flag from under the bridge.

There's a whole bunch more, but not sure who.
