8 days til gates open!.....I heard on a radio commercial that all college students get in for $30.00 with valid student ID.  Is this true?  And, if so, is this for Wednesday through Sunday, or just Saturday?  Someone let me know so I can dust off my old student ID.

There is a discount at the gate. I would call the track 800-626-RACE or 863-655-1442  or e-mail them  at sirrace@sebringraceway.com to find out

This will be my first year at the 12 hours and I've been looking forward to it for 6 months.  I finally ordered my tickets about two weeks ago and received them last week.  About two days after ordering the tickets I heard about the student discount.  I'm a student at Ohio State so I emailed the track asking if there was anything I could do to possibly get the discounted price.  This is the reply I got:

Our policy is no refunds.  Just remember to check with us next year
before
you order tickets.

That's it.  It's a good thing the race and the event speak for themselves because this pissed me off enough that if I wasn't looking forward to the race so much, I'd be half tempted to say "To hell with it" and sell the tickets and not go.  I know they won't go bankrupt without mine and my fathers' money, but anything resembling even a little customer service would've been nice.  That being said, I can't wait till next Wednesday.  Too bad I have a 16 hour drive ahead of me.

Here's an idea......Go and buy your college ticket.  Wait till the next day or even later that day and buy another one and another one......Go outside the gate on Saturday morning and sell the tickets for $60.00 apiece.

Shame on you for saying "To Hell with the race" evil  :!:

Oh no, I didn't say that.  I thought about it for a second, but then I came to my senses.  The only thing that can go to hell next week is getting up at 4 am for work every day and this lovely Ohio winter.  It's 20 degrees today.  I've been visiting the forums for a few months now, but just registered today.  Thanks for the welcome.  I'll be looking for the sebringfans.com banners when I get there.  Anything some of you natives down there can do about this predicted rain?

I lived in Daytona Beach for five years.  I know how Florida weather works.  What's really sad is that I never got over to Sebring when I lived there and my dad worked at DIS running the concession stands.  At the time I was brainwashed into thinking "the funny looking cars with wings" were amusing to see at night but the real races went in circles.
