One of the bigger idiots here!

I finally got off my ass and hooked up the DVD player so I could watch the Le Mans DVD I got for Christmas.  What a great way to warmup for Sebring.  Said by many to be the greatest motor racing movie ever made.  It's sparse on dialogue, long on glorious engine music.  I forgot to turn the subwoofer on for the first part, so I've got to replay the start of the race and crank it.

Team Tampa:  this may not be news to your krewe, but there's a scene during the race of spectators playing bocce ball.

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.

I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid.

We, Team Tampa, had no idea about that scene. One question though...Were they in Crayola Crayon colored suits? Cool

I believe they were genuine eyetalians, and were playing on a <gasp> groomed court.
