The NASCARization of road racing...very well stated...my story....

I took a  photo of a Porsche Fab Car at Daytona this past Feb. I almost screamed outloud when i looked down to see the headlights on a Porsche were STICKERS :x

I never thought i would see the day when a PORSCHE would don a sticker headlight. The NASCAR drivers were everywhere and so were the fans. I will always appreciate road racing, but to sell out the sport to a bunch of guys who cheer on a car sponsored by Tide, McDonalds, Power Tools, etc...is a weak blow to exploit money. BOO to YOU GRAND AM. And Boo to Porsche for caving into the likes of NASCAR. It is a sad time in road racing.

ummm Champion is the world's largest Porsche dealer.

What I meant was Brumos really pushed grand am, an early adopter with two cars back when one of those POS things couldnt finish the 24hrs. Then again, I cant so much blame them, it's not like they had any competition, and they havent won anything in about 100 years...and stand no chance in ALMS.

Right you are about Champion being number one, i stand corrected.

They sure did lobby Grand Am to change...i remember the first year at Daytona when the DP's debuted...there were 4 or 5 of them, this year there were over 20.

True they would get blasted in ALMS, but i would like to know what the drivers really think about them...many of the top ALMS drivers run the DP's at Daytona.

I dont blame the drivers...it's a job. Now, an drive that would chose Grand-Scam over ALMS, different story.
