Hunter S. Thompson killed himself on Sunday. As with any suicide, I'm a little angry, but I really loved the guy's work. (My signature is a Thompson quote.) In the early nineties, I saw Thompson attempt an interview with Keith Richards. I think both of them were too wasted to be in Green Park race day. They were both slurring so badly, the interview needed subtititles! For any other two people, it would have been just another pair of drunks, but I think the term in this case would be "elegantly wasted".

Can't say I'm really surprised.

I mean when you mix alcohol, drugs, prized peacocks, a rural cabin, with all his firearms and personality....it was only a matter of time.

Most in our camp are huge gonzo fans.

I was just saying to myself the other day that I needed to go read Fear and Loathing again (for like the tenth time).

I'm gonna go watch Where the Buffalo Roam...I enjoy it more than Fear and Loathing sometimes.

The other DVDs on this site seem pretty cool, too.
