One of the bigger idiots here!

« on: February 15, 2005, 04:09:34 pm »

Every time I go to the Forum page I have to sign in, even if I check the box that says 'log in automatically.'  I know I've got cookies enabled, because I can visit other forums and my passwords are remembered.  Am I doing something stupid here?

The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.

try using this web browser (which is actually based on Netscape, but its much better)...its so much better than Internet Explorer, you dont get any stupid popups, and it give u the option to remember your password for each site, it automatically puts in your name and password then u just click login

I think I figured it out.  I was going to the Forum page and using the login box at the bottom of the page.  If I closed the browser, I was logged out, irrespective of whether I checked the 'stay logged in' box or not.  If I log in using the box at the top left of any page (which has no 'stay logged in' option), I'm logged in for good (even through a re-boot).

So the redundant log in at the bottom of the forum page may not be working as it should.

After deep thought, and a beer... I think you are right. Nuke and PHPbb are two separate entities that are joined together.

When i get around to adding a design to the forums, I will yank that area out.
