The Nordic Camaro Cup Series have come across the big pond to race at Sebring on Feb 11-12 with the Central Florida Region SCCA. The cars have left the port in Ft. Lauderdale and headed to Sebring. Drivers include Jan Magnusson and Nic Jonnson in this series. The cars are tube framed, sihlouette bodied Camaro's constructed by Howe Racing and shipped overseas. They are powered by modified GM ZZ4 crate motors making about 450 HP at about 2800# with driver. They are very similar to the SCCA GTA types and Trans Am 2 cars.
This will be a spectator SCCA event, I think the charge is 5 bucks for non members. This will also be a Crane Cams V8 StockCar points race weekend as well, with some fast GT and stock cars. Also some 260 cars in all the SCCA classes. A fun weekend for very little dough. There is a promoters test day on friday as well.
The following weekend at PBIR, the Camaro Cup will race with HSR (Historic SportsCar Racing).
WOW! That was a mouth full. I wish I could be there, but a three hour drive for me one way without camping is out of the question. In spirit I was there. Pictures anyone?
