I am doing my homework and have just come across information I am hoping longtime fans could verify. I have found that in 1986 there were propositions to install both a berm along the hairpin for increased viewing and that the first actual permanent bathroom was to be installed in Green Park - between the Hairpin and the Chicane. That would make it the 25th anniversary for each of these amenities. Can anyone actually remember if this happened in 1986? I have not yet finished my research on this but I thought I'd "get it out now" in a manner of speaking...

In 1986 there were actually two bathrooms in Green Park. If you were going into Green Park over the drive over bridge and you turned left, it was about a block in and on the left. Then there was one leaving the Hairpin going towards the Chicane on the right. Both are still there. As far as the viewing berm... I am not sure.

HELL yes it's reson to celebrate! If you didn't come to Sebring before a shower and proper toilet was available you just don't know how ruff it was. The bad thing was that when the bath house went up we lost our spicket in 10. You see I started camping in 1978 under the big pine tree that Sutherland now is under near the road. The track went past us and behind a warehouse out of site. The water hookup with multiple Y's and hoses comming off it was near where that big sand pit is now. You'd bring a hose and a shovel to bury it. This hose + a bathing suit = shower. Fun. Oh and toilet was a VERY ripe port-a-pot....period. Unless you could make it to the hairpin as that toilet house was there.

F-Troop also had water from pipe we laid and like Sandy said, would bury it every year....as you know, we've moved and no water these days but with the showers you don't need it.

Hey speaking of things buried at F-Troop, what ever happened to Bad Dog? Is he still buried at the old site or was he relocated too?

Pipe was laid from the fire hydrant to the old F-Troop corner. We would dig down for it when we arrived and bury it again when we left. But that was years ago, hopefully the Police are using it now The last Bad Dog was burned. I believe the buried him then dug him up and burned him....all with lots of ceremony of course!

The last bathroom I remember at the old F Troop site went up in flames one night! That was also the year alot of cars were burned in place! The next morning was quite a scene. very middle east looking.
