So here are the contenders: 1. "Some woman" Seems our own Gasblendergirl's Golf cart was Struck. STRUCK I say. by the Audi in a dramatic paddock incedent. 2. DUI Golfcart... never to be discussed again. 3. Lee leaves track in ambulance again... -Lee

As "Some Woman" who's golf cart suddenly got in the way of the Audi #9 as it was being pushed out of the garage I'd like it to go on record they (pit crew) shoved my cart backward into an ATV so I couldn't move then they pushed the Audi out fast and rammed into my cart. Yes there was paint transfer but no damage on my cart. I can't say for the Audi. As to #2 in the line up of Lee's contenders that was a different camp and a different cart. But it does involve a friend who is not on this site so we will leave that one alone.

Lee I'm glad to hear your OK. If you ever start your own ChumpCar team I have a good idea on what your theme would be. Did you get to see any of the race? Sandy It sounds like you have another war story to put in your racing archives. I feel bad for your friend. I know from my own experience. It happened to me out in California, I'll tell about it some other time. At least the weather whale lost it's way. I caught all but the first hour of the race due to work. Other than that it was a great race. I hope you had a Good time. I came across this video of the 1986 race at Road atlanta. It's from a Spanish broadcast but it still makes your teeth cringe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tT-bbkYbKY

OK! someone out there has to have a line on a chump-car/Cadillac circa early sixty style ambulance with a five hundred plus cubic inch engine. That would be classic.

Gasblender-you know, i always feel like it's amazing we don't have more golf cart-on-race car incidents. Things can get so dicey in the paddock areas, we're lucky that pedestrians aren't mowed down and hauled off after getting pinched between the carts and cars. Glad to hear your cart ended up on the winning end of that exchange. Fuck audi.

Hi, MiCarr reminded me that some of you do care First a big thank you to all who packed up my stuff so i could fly home. MiCarr Randy Sandy Lee Doris. Thanks to Doris for delivering me to the airport so I could catch a plane. My friend Jeff took my bike back to his house near Atlanta. My son picked me up at Buffalo airport.Visited my Doctor on that Monday and he had me in for Xrays immediately. Four fractured ribs....ouch! He gave me painkillers and said it will hurt for 3 to 6 weeks. I took the week off work. Still hurts a bit but no where near what it did. Thanks Sandy for letting me use Norm's chair. Thanks Doris for driving me to Breakfast and the airport and for coming all the way from New Zealand. To Velox racing guy for sharing his Percusetts (sp) Great Race. Phil
