It wasn't; the whole grassy knoll between the theater and the new Dali was a mud pit and roped off.

It was funny yesterday, I got bored of hanging out in the parking garage so I figured I'd go to the beer garden for one.  My heart sank when I saw it roped off.  I went to the other one and it was still open.  Even though the TV screen had a message announcing a 'Weather Emergency' and calling for all grandstand and hospitality areas to evacuate to the parking garage or theater.

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.

It was sureal Smack Ass
Reminded me of of the Avitar here of the guy hanging on to the canopy
And I kept telling everyone standing under our tarp
IT'S A DRY RAIN then whenever the wind picked up other people were yelling
"     "    "     "        Hilarious and then in between downpours forging thru the lake under the motorhomes to get to the Port o john out by the runway
But hey we saw 3 good support races
I just wish I'd called in sick and got down there today  Dancyboy

During the monsoon, I had a cooler of beer and big bottle of whiskey in the car so it did not take long for me to get tired of the paddock and theatre shelter. Got properly drunk in the parking garage across from Midtown.

I was there all 4 days and did not see anybody I knew from here. I did see one of my cousins and her super hot friend during the Sunday World Challenge race. Dan Wheldon got them in with pit passes and everything. Hot girls are lucky like that.

I had a lot of fun but miss the ALMS being there.

They probably were more worried about a environmental spill getting in to the street drains than a little rain water.   azncool  coolsmileycool
