I'm finalizing the plans right now.  My third year in a row if you want to even count last years effin muddy debacle.  I'll be flyin' in Tuesday night and camping with my brother and some local friends up on top of the esses.  If someone should spraypaint a big ol WFO on the track, it wasn't me.   Just so ya know. wink

I'll be there, staying at the hotel.  No more camping for me anymore I'm afraid.  After last year I have to be on my best behavior.   angry   Smiley

I'm still a little on the fence. It'll be tough going without Norm. I've always gone to Petit with Norm. But....I will still probably make the trek. In which case I will be camping at the chicane between Turns 3/4. Look for my yellow Xterra and I will be sitting in Norm's "Bunny Chair" by the fence. See ya trackside!

is there a big line on Tuesday night? I have a hotel up the road in Gainsville but I could do one extra day of drinking and smoking and just being bad. Leaving Fort lauderdale Tuesday AM..... and the clock ticks Reno Air Races then Petit.

Prior to 2009 the gates actually opened Tuesday evening after the days track activities had concluded.  In 2009 they moved it back to Wednesday morning, saying the move gave them more time to prepare the infield due to the heavy rains.  Who knows what will happen this year.

Yeah, last year they lined everybody up across the street in the parking lot of Lanier Speedway (local hard surface circle track).  They fed everybody in like 1 row at a time or something into the track before the people along the road got in.  No idea on this year's plan.

I doubt this shit is gonna happen again:

Lots of people at the race didnt even realize how bad it was.  South of the city it was the worst.

During the Road America broadcast, Scott Atherton was interviewed and said they expected the number of entrants "to start with a 5".  A 50 car field would be great to see!
