There were eight people arrested on charges of possession of marijuana on Wednesday evening at the track. They were arrested by undercover deputies. The police seem to be more active this year.

A good friend of mine got out of police work because of crap like this. As he told it, whenever the department needed to "pad" their arrest records, they would go to places where there was a likelyhood of busting evil pot smokers. He said that whenver the Grateful Dead came to town, the department looked like a bunch of heroes. They would hang out in the parking lots and bust kids smoking joints. Murders, rapes, robberies, etc., continued at their usual pace (this was in Denver), while half of the police force was at a Dead show "keeping drugs out of the hands of children". I know that police don't make the law, only enforce it, but they can choose where and when to allocate resources. I'm sure this Sebring statistic will come up in some local council meeting concerning the effectiveness of the police effort. Sleep easy tonight, Sebring. Eight hardened criminals, likely with links to Al-Qeda and the Taliban, are off the streets!

LMAO. Yeah they are off the streets for a whole 2-3 hours. Then they go hit a joint on the way home in the car. Gotta love effective police work. They may be doing their job, but wouldn't it be better served to get the person who sold it, not the one using it. They finally figured out it was better to hit up the bars for underage drinking versus the user, so why don't they figure this out for drugs as well. Oh well, Just another day in paradise.

Two guys were busted for pot a few spots down from us. Undercovers in the brown&tan Ford Bronco and the green F-150 were there. As the cops in the Audi's were taking them away, the undercovers were asking if we had any! A little desperate for a bust huh?
Where were they when our golf cart was stolen Friday night? Found it myself the next afternoon with two fatasses and their loud-mouthed ugly ho driving by right where the stole it. Bastages! evil

They saved the world of the evil pot smokers.
They should feel proud of their lifes accomplishment.
They probably had a few beers and cocktails to celebrate,...hipocrasy at it's finest.

that undercover officers were brought in at Sebring to curb the dastardly pot smokers attempt to finance Al-Quada!    I mean really, come on. This is a victimless crime. You would think we would have learned after prohibition that the only people that prosper from ideolgies such as this are crooked law enforcement and black market distributors. If the gubment's  really interested in foiling AQ's bankroll, legalize marijuana and make laws dealing with heroin and cocaine, drugs known to be grown and processed outside the US, much more harsh. Allow the smoker to grow his own or get it from a state store, tax and regulate it and save our taxpayers money and "foil" the gubments attempt at creating an "institutionalized" state. We incarecrated 713,000 citizens in 2003 alone for pot SMOKING. Not grwoing, distributing or selling but freakin' smokin' a weed!! At $30K a year expense to house and guard these "heinous" criminals, you do the math and see the expenditure we the tax payers have to foot every year. Go check out the "drug clock." Interesting information and statistics the politicians will never offer the public.

Even more ludicrous than this to me is the fact that some Sebring patrons feel it is there duty to cart around the undercover cops and help the bust be made. One of the people in my group saw one of the FSJ "visitors" and the 3 people he was with cart off some guys over at Turn 6, handcuffs and all. The 3 cops were in plain clothes as was the RAT. To me, nothing is worse than a RAT!  evil I want nothing to do with someone that low.

Woof

Because it is illegal, I could see if someone were blatantly walking down the middle of the road burning down,..taking a puff while riding over the bridge to the Zoo,..or toking on a spliff while riding the mechanical bull on the midway,...But to have this whole, planned, undercover, vice wannabe, sting thing, going on to infiltrate somebody minding their own business, in their own campsite, is a bit over the edge.

There are plenty of Meth labs throughout Highlands County that they should worry about, more than a few end-users smoking a joint at the races. But most of those Meth folks are friends and Family of Highlands counties finest.

I think the Safety of the 150,000 or so there were there, should be where the focus of Law Enforcment should be at The Sebring 12 Hours, not legislating anyones morallity!

Should I replace the Fan Finder map with the "Let's Get high" map?

Oh wait, that could be funny. We could post directions to a fictitious campsite where you can buy drug at and wait for the raid and take pictures next year
