First group I met at the races were the Kings and the Pit Crew.
That's what happened to you! How's the counseling going?

I learned how to have sex at the races and hadn't even done it yet! When I finally did....I asked the guy, "shouldn't we be on top of a bus or something?" See my previous post.

Since it's an AA for Sebringites I need to tell more. LOL. This will be my 40th race. I have been going to Sebring since I was 11. Ok, so you know how old I am. Hey, it's just a number... In my 20's I loved Sebring so much that I would go by myself. I always had friends to stay with when I got there. Some years I would sleep in my car. In 2007 I got Sebring Race "Fan of the Year". Still the only woman to get that honor. Talk about that warm and fuzzy feeling all over. My 40th too! I'm 2 years younger. Name's Paul; a charter member of the Pit Crew. The Pit Crew is more the doing of my younger brother and his crazy friends.

It was probably one of those high-school girls that used to hang out at the Pit Crew. I was always worried one of their parents would show up.

Hi my name is gatorgal, but my real name is Gretchen. Those who know me already know that I've been coming to Sebring for many decades, I think I'm on year 39 or 40. My father (Swillz) started bringing me when I was a toddler (2-3 years old) and I've been coming ever since. There were a few years that I didn't come for various reasons, but for the most part, I know 1. When the chicane was a real chicane 2. When the hairpin was a real hairpin 3. When motorcycles cruised the raceway 4. When dust was EVERYWHERE 5. When Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, and the usual suspects, including Toyota and Nissan, then Audi all had their years of total domination. Yes, I have ticket stubs and posters. 6. I have a 1988 race poster, mounted and everythign--can I bring it this year to get an autograph from our celebrity Sebring Fan??? 7. When I grew from being scared shitless of getting lost to being thrilled at the idea of venturing out on my own 8. Enjoying the years of Al Holbert, Derek Bell, Hurley Haywood, and so many more. Gosh, I could go on and on. But I'll scan some photos in tomorrow and add in somewhere. Damn, I can't wait to get back out there!!! I have some old 8mm film converted to DVD, that my daughter just showed me. Hope to bring some out to Turn 10 to show to ya'll. Good times! Good times!

Hi I'm, Lee, my screen name is leeself, and I'm a Sebring-0-holic. " Hi Lee" I've been addicted to Sebring since 1978. I can't wait to get there next wednesday. I did the art for the race poster in '87 and '88. ...and (wait for it) I've just finished a Book about our beloved race. I'll have my final draft in hand at the race. It is now in the hands of my publisher. I don't know when they will be available yet. but you guys will be the first to know. Hi Penny, Hi Dave, Hi Lorie... You are so funny...

I am Zach. 311 (my favorite band) Unity (their ideology behind life and a name of one of their songs) 13b (the engine code for my Mazda RX-7's rotary engine) I have been a SebringFan since 2003 (yes, I am still a n00b) I have Sebring in my blood though. My Grandfather was at the very first 12 hours in 1952 and has footage of it. I have been trying to find it amongst his things since he has passed on. He was at many other 12 Hours in the past and many Daytona 24's. And some other CAN-AM races, at tracks which I am not sure. I have seen pictures of the cars he has but not sure what tracks they are at. Lee, I cannot wait to look at your book. I will gladly buy a copy if I like what I see. Which is almost definite. Also, I cannot wait to meet everyone that I have not met before. I can almost smell the orange groves now.

Hello my name is Sandy, you're right Penny it feels like an AA meeting. I've been attending the 12 hrs of Sebring since my dad introduced me to the race in 1979 (I was 15, now you know my age). This would be my 31st but I missed one due to faulty vacation scheduling. I'm known as the gasblendergirl because my father outfitted a Ryobi weed whacker to an Osterizer blender about 20 yrs ago but failed to patten the idea (he could have been rich!). Any way I still pull out his old prototypes and fix up a mean batch of frozen drinks TRACKSIDE!!! Sebring is permanently on my vac sched. It's what I can't wait to do all year and it's in 7 days! I'll be there!
