All-
Am I a Sebring uber-geek or does anyone else have any of the Riverside Records "Sounds of Sebring" LPs?
For those of you that have never heard of them from 1956 through 1962 Riverside Records recorded the entire race from start to finish, blended the sounds of the cars in the background, pit lane interviews with an overall synopsis of practice, qualifying to make a hour and a half record of the race. The 1957 event was a double record (I love the cover photo of the winning Maserati 450S!).
The coolest part of the record was the countdown to the Le Mans start, you can hear the "10-9-8....." from the track announcer, then the patter of the driver's feet as they run to their rides, some slamming of doors, then all hell breaks loose......
I've got all of them burned onto CDs...if anyone else is interested I'll bring them to Turn 10 next weekend....

I had two of the records, put them on tape, gave copies to friends - I have lost mine, donated the records to the Sebring track through Ken Breslauer. I would love to purchase CD's of any of the available records, it keeps me going until my next driving event or Sebring. Went to my first Sebring in 1957, saw Fangio win in Maserati - at 75 yrs I'm still racing with HSR at Sebring and Daytona - Thanks, Bob email is racerbob@tampabay.rr.com

Not that this helps much, but one of the vintage vendors was selling a copy for 30.00.
I almost bought it... but taking it back to L.A. seems frightening.
