I was looking through the little pamphlet I received in the mail with my tickets and was checking out the race schedule for the week. It caught my eye that the Speed World Callenge GT and the World Touring Car classes won't be attending Sebring this year. Their seasons will begin with St. Pete the following week. ALMS aside those are the other two classes I realy enjoy watching. My sister used to work for Whelen engineering. The first Sebring we attended was back in 07, we got to meet Eric Curran and Sonny Whelen in the paddock area. We even had a beer with Ted Marsh and swapped a few stories. Aside from the storm in 07, Watching Eric Curran win driving the Whelen Corvette in the wet conditions was one of our most memorable moments that year ( as I wipe a tear from my eye ). Ever since, we have made it a point to visit the Whelen crew to say hello and give them our support. My sister will be heart broken when I break the news to her. I'm sure once we arrive at Sebring she will cheer up. Regardless I'm realy looking forward to this years Sebring, meeting new friends, reacquainting with old and learning more about the ALMS from those young whipper snappers and above all watching great racing. I have a long way to go in learning more about the ALMS and the history of the cars and drivers. I'm looking forward to every second.

That is a shame, I enjoy watching the Speed Challenge ... loved the Lotus Elise last year.

That should be a good thing. Perhaps it'll be broadcast sometime other than 3am...

Wold challenge will suck anyway. Everyone has left except for, a few slow ass privateers, and Real Time racing. TV coverage is going to be months behind too. I ran into PD Cunningham about two weeks ago and asked him about theor 2010 program now that the World Challenge is failing. He basically said that other options are being persued, but they are going to stay in the Honda/Acura family. You can figure out what that means
