Don't forget AF Corse will be there with a Ferrari in GT2 with Jean Alesi driving.
And a fully rules compliant Audi is still not totally out of the question. There have been rumblings that they may make it to Sebring with the R15+ ready to go. I'm not holding my breath though.

I have to say, having seen the Pugs openly cheat at Le Mans, and get away with it, I don't see how they have any grounds to complain about Audi in the first place.
They either want to race, or they just want to win by forfeit? I go to the track to watch racing! Not just a hugely funded manufacturers team take on some privateers that have less than 10% of the funding and little chance of pushing them.
It was all started by Peugeot refusing to let Audi race! FACT!!! Yes there was a minor problem with the front wing? But it was also illegal to park on the side of the track at Le Mans 2008 because it was raining and then follow the winning car to the finish just to get in the photo as it crossed the line! The truth may now be that Audi have chosen not to race (and I find that hard to believe from what McNish has been saying lately) but maybe that's because they weren't expecting to be allowed to?
At the end of the day, Pugs are French and the ACO bend the rules something stupid to favour all French teams!
I remember my first Le Mans when I was sat at the (then very different) 'poo bar, and a guy came past with a Megaphone shouting "We'd like to thank the French for their help in the War!!!.... French Resistance??.........RESISTANCE MY ARSE!!!!"
So, just 'cause I'm keeping score you're going with "Fuck the French!" then?

Yeah, JPC (and, the general feelings of most others)! The frenchies have no room to bitch about cheating and getting hand jobs...err, I mean favors...err favoritism (yeah that's the one) from the ACO.

I was at the track 2 weeks ago and there were two Audi transports, cars and the pit booth set up at the end of pit lane. They said they were just getting the new drivers some seat time? Maybe so, a lot of equipment and a long way to go for some practice that you are not going to need. Didn't get to see the cars though because Andretti Green was practicing while I was there. I have to say, having seen the Pugs openly cheat at Le Mans, and get away with it, I don't see how they have any grounds to complain about Audi in the first place.

This will probably stir up a few of our Drinking For Holland lot, but the French aren't the only ones to cheat and bend the rules at motorsport. The Dutch were at it back in the 70's .
The first time the British drivers went to Baarlo to race in the stock car World Long Track Championship. Stuart Smith our top driver at the time was catching and was going to pass the race leader,(Dutch) so they dropped the checkered flag about 5 laps early and declared the Dutch driver the winner. To this day that was the only title he didn't win but he should have !
But I still say Fuck The French !

Whatever the kids done, he gets a pass just based on the greatness of his father. I'd like to stress test that line of reasoning with the following: Michael Andretti.

Keeping with that line of thought: Kyle Petty. (Chop, sorry, didn't edit your post, hit the 'Modify' button vice the 'Quote' by mistake.)

Agreed, not meant as a blanket endorsement of race driver kids...
refering specifically to JV, because HIS daddy was that good.
The rest of 'em are mostly pond scum, livng off of name recognition. Andretti, Earnhardt, et al.
carry on.

Let's be clear about one thing: I'm sure all drivers would love to be at Sebring, win or lose. This is about MONEY. Big, corporate money. The Pug/Audi battle on the racetrack is nothing compared to the corporate wrangling behind the scenes. We are but bit part pawns in a mighty battle of goliaths. So I don't blame any of the drivers. But I still say fuck the French.
