First of all, remember that Peugeot is the ONLY European team entering Sebring other than Aston Martin, so before bashing them lets be thankful the defending Le Mans champions think enough of Sebring to come over and race.
In regards to Audi, they have cleverly tried to make Peugeot the villians, however in reality they are just covering their ass for dissing Sebring (because its not one of three "Le Mans Cup" races this year). Audi tested for five days from Jan. 30- Feb.3 at Sebring, and they will run tests the five days after the 12 hours, so they obviously could race if they wanted to. They don't want to risk losing to Peugeot for the third straight race (so instead they will race in two minor Euro events right after Sebring). Don't blame Peugeot.

This isn't true?
Peugeot Sport boss Olivier Quesnel confirmed that he had objected to Audi's return to Sebring for a 12th successive assault.

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background. The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket. If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game. -the_stig, a ferrarichat.com douchebag

Right, because of an illegal car. I will love the Peugeot no matter what. After Allan McNish's stunt by jumping the restart at Petit LeMans 2008, I will hate Audi for the rest of my life. If you have to cheat to win... But the Pugs turned around at LeMans and ripped Audi a new one. Fuck you Allan McNish. That is all.

Bottom line......... Their still French and their still ASSHOLES... But after looking into this its quite apparent that Audi didn't get the front end revisions done in time for whatever reason and is pointing their finger at the Le Mans people for being late with this years regs........... Peugeot must have tested and looked at Audi times from last year and figured they would get their collective asses handed to them so they vetoed...... I do understand their concern but the bottom line remains that their still French and their still ASSHOLES!

It wasn't clear from Sack's post; is he saying that the new, legal car is ready to race? Then yeah, fuck Audi.

Do they have a legal car ready? Of course they do! They have already entered a European LMS race in early April. It wasn't clear from Sack's post; is he saying that the new, legal car is ready to race? Then yeah, fuck Audi.

I say fuck Audi. They are lying sacks of Schnitzel. The revised R15 is ready NOW. If they can change a transmission in three minutes, they can get a car ready in three months. The car they were testing at Sebring two weeks ago was legal and practically ready to race. I'm glad Peugeot kicked their ass at Le Mans.

I still say fuck Peugeot, if for no other reason then for extending the career of Jacques Villeneuve.
If Audi has a car ready to race and are scared to run it, then to hell with them.

I agree with everything Hardpoint said except for the Villneuve stuff, Whatever the kids done, he gets a pass just based on the greatness of his father. now to stay on subject, lets review: fuck the french and to hell with audi (if thier car is indeed now legal and ready to race). Oh so very european, doesn't play real well here. HOWEVER: I want to see both of them race! -Lee

Was going to sat the same thing ... And they've entered for the full ALMS season, they're not just a one-race wonder like Peugeot. Personally, I would have loved to see another Audi/Pug battle to the wire like last year.

I have to say, having seen the Pugs openly cheat at Le Mans, and get away with it, I don't see how they have any grounds to complain about Audi in the first place.
They either want to race, or they just want to win by forfeit? I go to the track to watch racing! Not just a hugely funded manufacturers team take on some privateers that have less than 10% of the funding and little chance of pushing them.
It was all started by Peugeot refusing to let Audi race! FACT!!! Yes there was a minor problem with the front wing? But it was also illegal to park on the side of the track at Le Mans 2008 because it was raining and then follow the winning car to the finish just to get in the photo as it crossed the line! The truth may now be that Audi have chosen not to race (and I find that hard to believe from what McNish has been saying lately) but maybe that's because they weren't expecting to be allowed to?
At the end of the day, Pugs are French and the ACO bend the rules something stupid to favour all French teams!
I remember my first Le Mans when I was sat at the (then very different) 'poo bar, and a guy came past with a Megaphone shouting "We'd like to thank the French for their help in the War!!!.... French Resistance??.........RESISTANCE MY ARSE!!!!"
