There's a puddle in my tent!

« on: January 27, 2010, 01:39:35 pm »

I haven't booked flights yet, I'm still in the planning stage.  I'm thinking of coming in on Tuesday, the 16th.  I'm wondering if anyone is driving through Orlando, Tampa, Fort Meyers, etc. on Tuesday?  Though I am flying out of Fort Meyers I can fly in to any city I want.  It's just a thought, I'd rather have a full day at the track on Wednesday and help set up.

Hi Anna,

I would offer a ride like Rob and I gave you last year but I will be in need of a ride down from Orlando on Wednesday myself since Rob won't be coming till Thursday.  I am sure someone will be able to.  Hopefully I can find a ride myself for Wednesday.

May possibly be able to help you there Anna, but my plans aren't definate yet. But I will be driving to the track Tuesday evening and may well be in Orlnado during the day.  I am at Amelia Island north of Jacksonville Sunday, Monday driving down to Orlando area I think and getting to the track Tuesday night. Not decided what to do with my day Tuesday but either something around Orlando before heading to Sebring or possibly the hockey game in Tampa Tuesday night. But that may be pushing it abit too much to drive from Tampa to Sebring at 10 pm at night.

Let me know your thoughts on rough arrival time if you come to Orlando on the Tuesday.

If you are coming out of Ft. Myers it isn't much of a trip to Sebring. Let me know because I usually make sales calls in Labelle on Tuesdays and Labelle is only 15 miles from Ft. Myers.

I can plan flying in and out of Ft. Myers, probably cheaper too than multiple cities.  I see that flights get in from Detroit around 10AM, noon, 1PM and 5PM.  Is there a time that you would normally be in the area?

I might have the same problem as Anna, I am not sure yet what day I will get to Orlando, probably on monday the 15-th and might need a lift down to the track.

As per Anna, i may be able to help you out, Looks likely i will spend the day around Orlando on the Tuesday and then drive down to the track late Tuesday afternoon. I think going to the hockey at Tampa would be pushing it too much as it would mean getting to Sebring after midnight. So looking to spend the day in Orlando instead and getting to the track in time to party Tuesday night.

So if you don't need a lift to the track until early Tuesday night, then i may be able to help you out. Also if you arrive Monday, I will have a hotel in the Orlando area for Monday night so you are welcome to stay in the room as well if you need accomodation for Monday night.

Thought of maybe going to Old Town / Down Town Orlando on the Tuesday as i haven't been for nearly 30 years.

So both you and Anna work out your plans and please keep me informed.

Yes, Lee, you're right this is a cool place.   Clap
Chris I'll keep in touch and, without a doubt, take you up on your offer.   Smiley  I can feel the Sebring sun getting closer and closer.

Tampa ... Tuesday ... haven't we been here before?  Couple years ago?  You've a ride if you make it in... Would you be staying with Brian at a hotel again?  Ken, Ryan (Pure Adrenalin) and I will be spending the night in Ken's van outside the track.

Options!  I love options!  I'll check on prices and decide on the city that way.  Chris and Misplaced, is there a particular time that is best to be at the airport by?

Non I can think of, I will probably be looking around Old town Orlando which isn't that far from the airport, so maybe a mid to late afternoon arrival would be good so i could do something with most of the day first but if you wanted to arrive sooner then also no problem if you fancy a quick look at Downtown Orlando as well.

Flights are booked!  Chris, I decided to fly into Tampa.  I can't handle flying into Orlando, probably all Mickey ears and screaming and sticky little kids.  Ick.

Thank goodness for frequent flyer miles, 1st Class on the way to Tampa!  And it will be dinner and cocktail time.   Smiley
