One of the bigger idiots here!

Shouldn't we have a forum for the 2010 race and archive this one?

http://www.autoweek.com/article/20091221/ALMS/912219996

Audi's participation in the 2010 Sebring 12 Hours with an interim version of its R15 prototype has been vetoed by archrival Peugeot.

The German manufacturer proposed taking this year's R15s fitted with 2010-spec engines to the American Le Mans Series opener in March. The move, which needed unanimous agreement of rival teams, was rejected by Peugeot.

Audi Sport boss Wolfgang Ullrich explained that late confirmation of next year's Le Mans regulations made it impossible to build a revised R15 fully conforming to the 2010 regulations in time for Sebring on March 20.

"We would have liked to do Sebring," he said. "That is why I had discussion with IMSA and then the Automobile Club de l'Ouest. The ACO said that if our competitors agreed for us to run a mixed car, then they would find solution. One of our competitors did not agree, and therefore we had to give up [on the idea]."

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.

to quote my buddy Norm: "Fuck the French"  tickedoff

they continue to to de-value Sebring with each and every decision they make.

Announcing Le Mans pick before Sebring was their first shot.
thier new IC concept doesn't even include Sebring, WTF.

I think that we will see Sebring on the IC calendar for 2011.

Think I might get a T shirt printed up to wear at Sebring with the Peugeot lion on and then "Can't Beat Them !" "Vetoe Them " and the Audi rings logo underneath.

If I read this all correctly, Peugeot are at it again. They're a sissy team and a bunch of bad loosers. They tried to get Audi out of Le Mans before, and they will do anything to win a race by getting their one and only real competitor out before the race even starts. A sad, sad way of 'doing business' to me.
I remember being at Silverstone during the LMS race in '08 where one of their cars was taken out of the race because the tail light was damaged in a collision. You should have seen the team manager, jumping up and down like a little kid not getting his way.
As far as I'm concerned Karma may chase them and catch up with this team. Bad loosers don't belong in sports...

I like Peugeot better than Audi.

With all due respect, I'd like to see a team to win because they have the fastest car, the best team and the fastest drivers. Not a team who thinks politics will take the jeckered flag first. Sure, rules are rules, but banning the other one instead of giving them the oppurtunity to correct themselves, is just faul play to me.

Audi has a illegal front end.  They didnt have enough time to redesign it in time for Sebring.  Which is why they arent running.

There is much rumbling right now that Audi may very well contest the 12 hours WITHOUT the approval of Peugeot. I don't think we will know anything until race week honestly.
