uh, I'd do a little more research before making a statement like that.....I seem to remember a father and son team in the 80's, John Paul, Jr. and John Paul, Sr.....and Dad doing some jail time.

I believe both Pauls got some time; Daddy's still in prison for 'witness tampering'--he tampered a witness with numerous rounds and left him for dead.

AutoWeek did a jailhouse interview of Paul Sr. years ago.  He said his favorite racing memory was running the old Sebring course on the runway--that far turn you couldn't get close to from the spectator area.  It was a 90 degree turn on a huge expanse of concrete and he said you could approach it at 190, crank the wheel over, hold the pedal to the floor, and feel the g's.

Was it the Whittington brothers that had the huge underground marijuana farm in Georgia?

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.

...and of course that was before ALMS when it was just IMSA!  Pauls lived in Wellington in Palm Beach County and I thought I remembered talk of cocaine but I'm sure Lee is right.  My friend did the paint job on their car.

Charges thrown out on a technicality.  France gets his Grand Am license reinstated, with the help of a 'forensic toxicologist' from Tennessee.  WTF?

Isn't anyone named 'France' considered Royalty in Daytona?  Kinda like the Kennedy's are up here?  Wonder of that had anything to do with it...
