Howdy guys!  I'm thrilled to hear some of you already know about the ChumpCar World Series and are already planning their entries.  My name is Travis, a Tampa crap can racer as well as the Regional Coordinator in Florida and Georgia for the CCWS.  Please let me know if any of you have any questions about the series, their entry, the build of their racers...anything!   Send me an email at travisf@chumpcar.com with your addresses and I'll send you some CCWS decals and brochures.  (Randy and Lee, I'll hook you guys up the next time we meet Martin at WH.)  There are several existing Tampa area crap can teams already in existance and we'll all be happy to show you our cars and answer any questions.
This event will be a blast!  We will run on the short course (around Green Park) for 11hrs 30mins on Saturday and will have a series of sprint races on Sunday.
For those interested there is a full 24 Hour race at Homestead / Miami in Feb 2010...along with other 'local' races at VIR, Roebling Road, Memphis.  Check out www.chumpcar.com for the FAQ's, rules, schedules and forums!

Thanks!

Man, only if you knew the truth.  There were five Tampa teams in SC last week for LeMons, all who plan to do ChumpCar.  There was a team, maybe two in the Sarasota / Bradenton Area as well as other teams from J-Ville and Orlando.

*******IMPORTANT*********

Hear-yee, hear-yee....
From the Chief Chumpster himself John:

Greetings Chumps!

Today (25 September), ChumpCar was advised by Homestead-Miami Speedway's management that they were required to change the date of our ChumpCar event from 20-21 February to 8-9 May 2010. It's a 75-day delay... which we didn't feel was too much of a problem. All of the teams that have already entered the event have been notified... and we actually received some feedback that the new date was actually better for some teams! Must be karma...

Additionally, the event has been changed form a 24-hour event to a Double 7-hour Enduro, as Homestead-Miami wanted an additional $2,000 per hour to operate the track after 5:00pm. (Uh-huh)

This schedule change opened up a few dates for ChumpCar and we have been able to move the "Not Quite 12-Hours of Sebring" event up to 25-26 September. This, again, is a better date for most teams.

Being the "new series on the block" means that we have had to be a little flexible in developing our 2010 calendar, but these new dates have been confirmed and re-confirmed.

Thanx for your understanding!
John

Hell Im in. I say we go for a third generation GM F-Body  (82-92 camaro of firebird). They are cheap, available, the 305 will run forever (especially if we can find one with the TBI), torque is good, over 300 ft/lbs, and parts are everywhere and VERY cheap. You probably trip over parts for these cars when you walk your dog. Cheap, reliable, available...sounds like a good booty call, or a rockin racer!

I'm proud to say "Moneyshot Motorsports" is in business and is the proud owner of a 92 Honda Prelude complete with a trashed H22a motor. It does have some neat up grades though including a little header and a C.A.I. hopefully the motor is going to be save-able although the water and oil look like heavily creamed coffee (not good). I ordered the roll cage today and went with the 1.74" x .120" for the simple fact that your running around with 4000# beasts so my little 2500 pounder (hope to get it to that weight) needs some protection. Gutting starts this weekend so its ready for the cage when its done in 2 weeks........... Anybody in need of any cheap interior parts for a 92 to 96 Lude...... inst. cluster, seats, window motors, A/C compresso, Etc?Huh??

Boris Said is a douchebag:

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.
