Great looking car and nice addition to Petit field! With Drayson, you never know when he's going to show up for a race. I guess when he's splitting his time between ALMS and LMS it makes it tough. Looking forward to Petit!

Hopefully it will be enough of an incentive to keep Acura in P1 next year...

They will be there. Highcroft has already committed, as has Patron, rumor has it there may be a significant amount of Patron colors in the ALMS next year.

Nice to see Ducan Dayton sticking around with the Acura. With the rumor of more Patron colors, maybe he'll field two? Actually I would like to see Patron become series sponsor. Now that would be a LOT of Patron colors at the track! What Porsche team will Romain Dumas & Timo Bernhard be racing for in ALMS next year now that Porsche has reportedly dumped support for Grand Yam? Hmmmm .... Alex Job? Brumos? Isn't wild speculation fun? Cheers &

Well, I should have stated, it's rumored Highcroft will stay with Acura, AFAIK, they are going to abandon the program full time, but leave engines and chassis available as rental equipment. From what I gather, he is going to pick up DeFerran's chassis with Patron' colors applied to it. DeFerran will not be back next year, at least in full time fashion..I just don't see it.
As for Porsche. It depends on who they give them to. With Corvette nipping at the lizards tails already, I wouldn't be suprised to see at least one in their stable, in a third car again, or possibly Farnbacher(they need help)..then again..there is a new Porsche team coming, so, one or both may end up there. I would expect that car in Patron colors as well.
GrandYawn will be interesting in 2010. NASCAR will not be funding any more teams, Porsche is pulling the plug as well..so..no more Penske either, unless they choose a different powerplant. Of course, with Porsche out that leaves an open spot for a manuf. Will Dodge go to GrandAm? No. Guess where that leaves Penske? ALMS or no sportscar program for 2010. Would a Spyder find it's way back to the grid in 2010 from one of his shops? Perhaps, but don't count on it. I would think a GT program is more than likely should he return. And that's a big should. Out of all of the cars and things he sells, it would make the most sense.
As for Porsche supported GrandAm teams..AJR already does the IMSA cup, and ahs tons of experience in the ALMS. I would like to see the return of McKenna sponsored Porsches. TRG is unhappy everywhere since they left the ALMS, and Brumos, eh, who knows..there is an odd france connection there.
The silly season has begun, and it's going to be awesome this year.

There have been rumors kicked around other places of Penske returning with Audi equipment.
At Mid-Ohio DeFerran announced his retirement from driving to concentrate on team ownership, with one car in IRL and another car in ALMS, with a possibility of a second car in ALMS.
Most of Grand-Am teams running Porsche power in DPs use the Cheyenne V8, while Penske uses the flat 6. If Penske can't win with the Porsche 6, who can?

Audi for Penske?!?! That's a new one to me..where did you hear that bill? DeFerran may be back, but it won't be with Acura, I just can't see it...it really is going to be a stretch for me to see that happen. I'm sorry, but that one will fall into the believe it when I see it. Nobody...that's who...hahaha.

Audi with Penske? I think Audi prefers total control. Yet, Penske follows the money! Now, maybe an Audi R8GT? Hmmm ... I'd love to see Champion tackle that one since Audi said all R8GT teams will be customer cars. The R8GT running with Bimmers, RSRs, Vettes, Ferraris? Woo Hoo! Too bad Risi won't be around next year since the new car won't be ready to race. Brumos? Wouldn't it be a hoot to see JC running in the ALMS! Cheers &

The Audi R8GT could be worked into a GT2 car, the differences are not much. Similar to the way the Drayson Vantage was a GT3 car..it would just need some mods to pull it up into GT2. And, unless they intend on building a whole new P1, I'd look for a GT entry. Protoypes don't sell cars..GT's will.
