Jeez ... I'm reading a lot lately about this happening!   tickedoff  Robin Miller, Murf ... this is sounding like a big, massive pile of NO GOOD!   Sad

I'd puke before I'd watch a proto-turtle lapping Sebring or PLM.  Heck, I puke at just the thought!

Anybody hearing any encouraging news?

Cheers and  Beer   Beer  //Mark//

before everyone gets all uppity....

Here's the thing, the ALMS does not want to stop what it has, nor does GA. But, not either organization is doing well. Both suffer from low car counts, both suffer from crappy TV packages, both suffer from no money..etc. Honestly, they need to combine but do so in such a manner that the GA prototypes go away as they can't even hang with a GT2 car. But along the same lines..it's going to be an empty P1/GT1 classes next year. So What do we do..quite a problem we see. GT2 is very alive, as is P2. GA/GT is fine, as is the DP class. So, you need to redesign and combine, car counts go up, TV is better, sponsors are better...life gets better.

If that's how it happens...

I agree with most/much of that.  I really enjoy the non-DP portions of the GA races and the Koni Challenge.  One BIG difference is that NASCAR is the sugar-daddy that is partially/fully funding the GA broadcasts and some of the teams as well as GA as a whole.  Without the Frances, GA is gone.  NASCAR's pockets are deep and Panoz isn't going to break the bank to save the series, and nor should he.  It will be interesting to see what happens.  In the meantime, I have a  Drinker.  Happy Independence Day!  //Mark//

unfortunately..I don't think it's going to happen how any of us want it to. Let us not forget thought, that GA used to be actual LMP cars.
