Just one humble computer geeks opinion, but...
I've used PC's my entire life (well, ever since I stopped using my Commodore 64) and just recently started using a Mac due to changing circumstances at work. As they say, once you go Mac, you'll never go back. I regret not making the change years and years ago. Yes, things are a little more difficult initially if all you know is PC, but if you have any level of computer knowledge the change is not difficult at all.
For example, on a PC I have to download Quicktime to watch .MOV files, .RN files are watched with Realplayer (does anyone use that any more?), DIVX files require either a CODEC download or a separate application. Of course, Windows is kind enough to embed Media Player for .AVI's or .WMV files. The aforementioned VLC, however, will play
all of those media types and more.
The OS is more stable (I've never had a 'BSOD' or equivalent on any of the three Mac's I use), makes better use of resources and provides better multi-tasking. It is different, and they are more expensive ... but then again, they have a far higher resale value than a PC. Buddy of mine at work just sold his three-year old -
three year old - MacBook for $1200. A three year old PC notebook wouldn't be worth half that.
As stated, that's just my opinion ... and bear in mind I've been in the computer field for over 30 years. So I may have a slight idea of that which I speak.
But ... the hell with that iProduct, I'm waiting for the MacBook Wheel to come out!
