Did I miss something in the lead into this?? I know how much beer there will be, I know who will drink a LOT of it, I know who will be cavorting with their inflatable "neices", I know who will be barbequeing, and who will eat too much, and who will be passing gas faster than Senna in the wet, but jeez, anyone care to pick which Audi will win?? Hopefully I just put a jinx on them all, and maybe James and Butch will win, assuming the car does not spontaneousley combust after ten laps! I know, it's twelve gruelling, long, hot hours at a rough track, and thats just for US! So, you have two questions here. Who will win overall, and who will be passed out by four o'clock!!!!!!!!! Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :?:

I'm going to go out on a limb. One of two things will happen. I'm still sticking with my original prediction that some how...some way one of the corvettes are going to find it's way to the overall podium. If that fails, I'll have to go with a more probable upset and predict that the Lotus is going to come out of no where to really kick some audi butt.

Hey, Hey, Hey! You need to share that bong! Now be a good boy and pass it on. Lotus Schmotus. The last time they won a race was in 1982!! But I do like the sentiment. It would be really a lot of fun to see any of those scenarios. It's well past time for some changes. But will you be passed out or bright and perky at 10.30pm???

If the MG can stay in one piece, I think James and Butch will win overall. If the MGs break, it will be Champion, with Veloqx second. If the Panoz doesn't spend a lot of time in the pits. I think it can take a podiium.
ASR all the way for LM2, although I'm pulling for Bucknum.
Corvette barely over the 575 of Sullivan and co. after one of the hardest fought battles in the history of sportscar racing.
Somebody in a Porsche in GT, although I'll be cheering for Morgan the whole race.
I will pass out around three, but after a lot of time in the pits, I will rally for a last minute dash ending in a podium finish!

I'll be wide eyed for the closest finish in Sebring history...a mad dash for the finish with a vicotry just seconds over second place (I'm praying it's a lmp car making a mad dash trying to catch the vette in the final minutes...OK I'm putting the crack pipe down now). Plus I'll be taking a whole lot of photos. I plan on just filling the hell out of my iPod with photos during the entire race. That will be over 10 gigs worth @ 1 meg per pic. 8O

Holy Crapamoly, now thats some serious amount of data. I shoot large format JPG or sometimes RAW but that's a pain to convert all the time. From Monday am to Sat PM I will probably have around 40GB of stuff. What the fart am I going to do with it all?? Apart fom the published pieces, most of it will be for memories when I'm in the old farts home, looking back to the good old days, before they made all race cars "Green", and running on batteries, so as not to hurt our delicate ears with all that nasty noise pollution. Thanks a LOT, President Nader!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sticking to my original prediction with some small changes for comedy reasons. Class winners: LMP1 AUDI LMP2 Lola GTS Vette GT Porsche I know thhat is not a stretch seeing as Audi will win, LMP2 is the Lola class & GT is the Porsche Class Real predictions: LMP1 Audi UK #88 LMP2 Lola B2K/40 / Nissan #10 GTS Corvette #3 GT Porsche #23 Overall Podium: UK Audi #28 UK Audi #88 Lola B2K/40 / Nissan #10 Surprises: GTS Ferrari 525 is a non factor after not getting their equipment stuck on that broken down freighter. Morgan lasts the whole race. Champion Audi breaks midday. Lotus Elise finishes, but behind several GT cars. Saleen looks like a contender for the first few hours, goes behind the wall only to come back out for the finish like the Panoz.

This does seem like it "should" be a fairly predicable race. BUT I have this funny little feel something REALLY cool will happen this year. Some real excitment. Or, maybe I'm just thinking of greenpark again. :?

I think Champion will take it with Audi UK 2nd. Sebring owes them one after the last two years. This is assuming Pirro doesnt get more leg cramps. I think the Herbert/McNish car is going to be hard to beat though. Simply put, Champion has more experience then anyone in LMP1 at this track, and a proven bulletproof car. If they lose, it will be their own fault.
I dont think the MGs will finish the race...if they do, i dont think they'll be anywhere near the podium.
As much as I hate the Corvettes, It's going to be hard to bet against them. The 575s should be quick, but they wont last...and the 550s will be right with them, but i think the new shoes put the Corvette just a little bit ahead. I'll be routing for the Ferraris though.
AJR will win the GT class.
I dont have any idea about the LMP2.

For some reason the Champion team has been having problems getting support, parts, etc. from Audi this year. It seems the factory has taken the UK team under it's wing. That gives them the non "factory support" advantage. Damn Brits stucking together :S That is why I am betting on the UK team

This being said, Champion took it to Joest and had him beat in every major endurance race in the last two years...only bad luck kept them from the prize. Also, Audi will always give champion support. They are not allowed to run the car without an audi tech on hand. When he leaves, he takes the ECU with him.

As a Brit, I must PROTEST to the idea of a German team being British!! We are just using the Jerries technology. Let's face it, the Tiger tank was the best in the world, with it's huge Mercedes engine. They ARE great engineers. But they ARE German not Brits. So we are using their equipment under duress!! I think next year, there should be a rule change. Country's and their drivers can only enter cars designed and built in THEIR country. Which put's us poor Brits in Morgans', TVR's and Loti, which, dammit, is the way it's supposed to be, and by the way, paint em all British Racing Green!!!!! Of course, you can now speculate as to what countries will be competetive as well. 8O
