My Grandfather was at the first race in 1952. He also has video of the race and pits. I need to try to get my hands on it. I think its in 8mm form.

The Sebring Sports Car Museum would love to get their hands on that film. My Grandfather was at the first race in 1952. He also has video of the race and pits. I need to try to get my hands on it. I think its in 8mm form.

I replied "nothing wrong with that. 'Not nice' is putting a 12 inch dildo in some drunk's hand at Sebring so he can explain it to the cops." |

You've only got to spend 5 minutes on sebringfans.com to realize that, while many of them may be knowledgeable fans, this race is mostly a drinking binge with some noisy cars in the background.
The focus (on that site) on alcohol consumption is really kind of depressing. I'm kind of amazed (and disappointed) that track management doesn't do anything to try and go a bit more upmarket.
If I wanted to hang with drunken louts I'd go to a British premier league game.
