What races were you able to attend this year? Also, mention the highpoints that come to mind.

I've attended my final race of 2007 and, although fairly light, it's been a good year.

 1. Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona
 2. 12 Hours of Sebring
 3. IHRA Spring Nationals @ Rockingham Dragway
 4. Five Friday nights regular features at the local 1/4 mile  (Wake County Speedway)
 5. Dirt Super Late Model feature @ Fayetteville, NC 1/2 Mile dirt
 6. ASCS Winged Sprints @ Fayetteville, NC 1/2 Mile dirt
 7. Carolina Clash Touring Dirt Super Late Model @ Fayetteville, NC 1/2 Mile dirt
 8. Big Dawg Pro Modified/Outlaw shootout and 1/8 mile Piedmont dragway
 9. Petit Lemans
10. IHRA Fall National at Rockingham Dragway
11. North/South Modified- East West Super Modified at Concord Speedway
12. World of Outlaw World Finals (with Super Late Models) at Lowes Dirt Track (Charlotte)
13. Thanksgiving Classic 300 Nascar Sanctioned Late Model Stock (.4 Mile Southern National Speedway, Kenly, NC)

High Points-
The Super Modifieds at Concord were insane. I gotta see them more often.
Items 11 and 12 were done on the same day.
Having been to just about every race on the East Coast, I think I'm beginning to realize that my race budget is appreciated more by the local Mom and Pop race tracks and participants than the corporate and car club scene of most series. Thats a good thing, I can get my race fix without a 12 hour drive.

Low Points-
Indy is not on the list. The rain forecast didn't bode well for that 12 hour drive.
Rolex 24. I just don't get the point of the Daytona Prototypes and I never will.
I would include the rain @ Sebring, but looking back it was just part of the excitement and will make for good stories around the camp fire.

Short list but here goes:

Sebring - The flooding sucked ass but the rest was great. Told my wife to kick me in the junk if she sees me pack sandals after the way the fire ants feasted on my lower half this year.

USGP - Hot as hell. F1 cars are the shit. I hate giving money to IMS.

CC/ALMS Road America - Awesome as always. Amazing track, great food. Watched ALMS Saturday. Left Sunday morning and watched CC from a hotel bar in Chicago.  Drinker

Petit - Quickly becoming a "must do" along with Sebring every year.

I may actually do Mid-Ohio next year. It's just too close to home to let the IRL keep me away. Besides, I'll probably just leave Sunday morning anyway.

Is it March yet?

That's the spirit! Hope you can make it. Leaving on Sunday is definitely the way to go. That's what i did last year. And i only really watched like 5 minutes of Indy practice or qualifying or whatever before i spit at them and went back to camp

2007 was a good year...

Sebring Winter Test - Drove down to Sebring for the afternoon with my dad.  Saw the Acuras for the first time.

Rolex 24 - Yawn.

Sebring 12 Hours - We all know about Sebring.

Mid-Ohio - Spent the day at Mid-Ohio ALMS race.  Good times.

Petit LeMans - Between the fire ants and unmanned neighbor's truck, it was good time.

Looking forward to 2008!  Might add Mosport or Lime Rock to the list.

Probably the shortest list here:

Sebring 12 Hours (ALMS)

Northeast Grand Prix (ALMS)

High point of the year:  At the NEGP (Lime Rock Park) I took the family to the races for the first time.  We set up Thursday night in a driving rainstorm, had another blow through Friday afternoon.  Friday night, after just one day of practice & rained out qualifying, one of my Daughters looked to me and asked, "When can we go to another race?"

Low Point:  Friday morning at Sebring, when I realized that all the clothes in my suitcase were soaked from the storm Thursday, and the underwear I'd been wearing the past day was all I had until Sunday when I got back to Bro-Ken-Flush's house.  Shocked   Thank God for DfH, at least I had a clean, dry tee-shirt to wear!

I would like to think that I had a pretty good season.

12 Hours of Sebring- That rain made for some fun

Rolex at Mid Ohio- Pretty boring but a bad day at the track is better than a good day at work

SVRA at Mid Ohio- Great weekend.  I have never seen 40 lambroginis at once before.  I love the Italian cars

ALMS & IRL at Mid Ohio- More rain, but so much fun.  Nothing like sitting in the Thunder Valley and watching Mika Salo take out Tomas Enge

ALMS at Mosport- More rain.  This trip was planned at the last minute.  We left my place at 11 pm and got to the place at 7 am.  The facilities sucked but the atmosphere was great.  Plus the chick that camped behind us was SO hot.  Actually Canadian girls in general were pretty hot.  Turns 2-5 were some of the scariest looking turns I have ever seen.

ALMS at Petit- More rain.  It was a great time other than all the shit Bill had to put up with.

All in all it was a great season.  The budget didn't allow for Laguna and time constraints didn't allow Detroit but I still almost got to every race I wanted to make it to.  Hopefully next year I will be more of the same with another new track too.

Sebring 12 Hours - Another Great Year, Wet but wicked!
Castle Coombe Bank Holiday Race Day - Damn that was hot for this time of year in the UK.
Snetterton 24 Hours 2CV's - Even  Wetter then Sebring, Slept in the car, and watched tents blow away.
Brands Hatch A1GP - Pickies wrecked the tent, Race was awesome!
Silverstone FIA GT - Great Race, really good weekend, Shame the Jags screwed up!
Silverstone F1 - Race?Huh
Le Mans 24 Hour - What a Party! Gets better every year!
Spa 24 Hours - Wow what what a circuit - damn long walk from the campsite tho!
Silverstone LMES - Dutch guys back over again, Great race and what a party!
Brands Hatch Truck Weekend - 12 Tonne and 0-60 in 3 secs! These are great.
DfH Party, Rotterdam - What can I say a great close to a great year!

High Point

Seeing all the American's going is that all youve got after the storm at Sebring.

Low Point

Pikies at Brands Hatch. Need a new tent again!

Goodwood Track Revival weekend - 3 days of classic motor racing in a 1950's time warp.

Sebring 12 Hours Great to be back, weather could have been better, but hight point was the La Bomba sunset ride on Saturday with most of the guys from DfH and CA.
Homestead Miami Indy 300 Indy first timer. Good to see for a change, better to leave alone.
A1GP Brands Hatch First timer at this track, will be back next year. High point: the girls from British GT
24 Hours of Le Mans high point: DfH friday night party
Nurburgring 1000 KM (LMS) high point: the Friday night before in the nudie bar in Cologne
24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (FIA GT): high point: Saturday night at the Eau Rouge bar, getting biblically drunk and parking my car on my tent (or was that a low point?)
A1GP Zandvoort: high point: shooting videos for A1 Team Netherlands and a couple of other racing teams

Wow, it was a long year!  I've never been as busy in my life.

It all started back in January........
Daytona 24 Hrs- GA-  as a spectator, my first time in the pit for this race, slept for about 40 minutes, ouch.  Weather was F-ing awful!
Mexico City- GA- now an employee
Sebring- ALMS- need I say more?
Homestead-GA
VIR- GA
Laguna- GA
Lime Rock- GA
The Glen- GA
Le Mans!!!!-  Need I say more?
Mid-Ohio- GA
Daytona- GA- a one day show in support of NNC- 18 hours at the track- ugh
Iowa- GA- we were running up front the whole time until we picked up rubber, threw a belt and cooked the engine.  It took weeks to recover from the disappointment.
Barber- GA- A WIN!!
Montreal- GA
Mosport- ALMS- Rain rain and more rain.  We ended up going back to the hotel, again.
Detroit- ALMS- a hot, sunny day.  Private P&M/Corvette hospitality tent!   Cheesy
Utah- GA- another win, crazy finish!
Laguna- ALMS- I love this track

I'm sorry I missed Petit again.  Someday...........
