There's a puddle in my tent!

« on: July 28, 2007, 07:25:41 am »

So here I am, home for the weekend, no race to work and the boss is in Belgium (working a race!).  I already bothered the Guv for a half hour tonight on the phone.  I drank all the beer in the house and I'm bored.  Not much going on here, perhaps it's time to find some friends.  It's a bit late to do that tonight.  Maybe tomorrow.
Anything interesting happening to Sebring Fans this weekend?

Uhm, not to rub it in or anything, but yes, the 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps was absolutely fantastic! Didn't see Brian though (didn't buy paddock ticket) but had a very enjoyable get together with DfH and Club Arnage regulars on Saturday night at the Eau Rouge corner. For pics, see this topic on CA: http://www.clubarnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=7209.150. The weather on Sunday was awful though, but a great Dutch Corvette win by Carsport and again it was close 'till the end (less than 2 minutes between 1 and 2). FIA GT really rocks. Well, this race anyway. It's a shame you guys weren't there, you really should pencil it in for next year.

This weekend we did the Rev It Up in orlando. We had a great time. I blew my chances, I clipped a cone. But Eric (shakedown067) lasted almost all day on the leader board. He just missed being able to compete for the City Title.

We competed early, went to have lunch and came back to see that it was closed due to lightning and it had poured on the track. After we were allowed reentry, Johnny O’Connell showed up and signed some autographs. We spoke to him for a few minutes. It was funny. He could walk around like a normal person. There was probably about a dozen people who knew who he was.... I found it very bizarre.

At this time we had already done everything there when johnny decides he is going to drive the Z06 and give people rides... We had already used our ride tickets earlier. We had a very good professional driver give us a ride, but seeing johnny drive that same car was amazing. He was flinging that car around on the wet pavement... keeping the car on the edge.... man it was a joy just to watch. Those lucky few that got to ride with him probably did not know how lucky they were.

I'm glad to hear that someone had a good weekend!  I was bored, not used to having down time.

Pieter, if Brian isn't working Spa next year, we're thinking about going as fans!

Rev It Up sounds like a good time.
