So I got this podium hat this year at the 12 hours. You can't buy them or get them anywhere as far as I know. What do you think the worth of it is?

Probably about $20.  It really isn't much of a collectors item.  If it was signed by the podium of the race, it would be worth more.  Personally, I would just hang on to it.  It will be worth more in 30 years.

If it was signed by the podium of the race, it would be worth more.

If it was signed by the drivers on the podium, worth even more!

I caught a podium hat worn by David Brabham on the podium at last years race. I then went to a lot of trouble to find a silver pen, and track down both David and Scott Maxwell to ask them to sign it. Sadly Sebastien Bordais had left the circuit by the time i returned with a silver pen. But both David and Scott signed it and wrote, GT2 winners Sebring 2006 on the hat.

I then donated the hat to a charity auction the following week , along with the other items that several drivers and teams provided me with.

That hat brought £25 in the auction which in todays money is about $50.

The Audi flag signed by the winners brought £35

Johnny O Connells boots signed by all 6 Corvette drivers brought £45 and now reside on my TV as I bought them myself.

Max Papis signed visor brought £25

But the Aston goodie bag including a signe hat, a t shirt and a flag brought the most at £65

But what impressed me the most was that the Brabham podium hat raised more than a signed Michael Schumacher hat !
